John has practiced with North Eastern Urology since 1994. He has a long term association with Austin Health (including the Repatriation Campus), initially as a medical student, then as a junior doctor and remains on staff as a visiting Medical Specialist.
John commenced training in Urology in Adelaide and completed his fellowship in Melbourne before undertaking specialist training in reconstructive urology at Guy’s Hospital in London.
John practices general urology, but is best known for his interest in reconstructive urology (such as bladder enlargement and replacement and urethroplasty and buccal graft), neuropathic bladder management (has links with the Victorian Spinal Cord Service), Urodynamics and incontinence management particularly following radical prostatectomy incontinence (such as insertion of Artificial Urinary Sphincter or Male Sling.
John is a member of AMA, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and Urology Associates of Australia and New Zealand.
John’s interests outside urology includes spending time with his family, playing golf and tennis and sailing when the opportunity presents. John also has an interest in old cars.
